What is the Catholic Foundation of Alaska?
The Catholic Foundation of Alaska is a stand-alone, non-profit corporation that offers opportunities for individuals and families to share and invest their God-given gifts of treasure to help ensure the vitality of the Church throughout Southcentral Alaska. The Foundation also provides a place of safe-keeping for investment and Catholic school scholarship funds of the Archdiocese of Anchorage and its parish communities.
The Foundation’s management and investments are in keeping with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. A volunteer Board of Directors oversees the Foundation’s management, ensuring accountability and providing thoughtful stewardship of the Foundation’s assets. Foundation investments are managed by experienced professionals at Wells Fargo Advisors who are familiar with and adhere to the core values of the Church.
Who invests in the Foundation?
Individuals and families at all income levels make annual general donations to the Foundation and establish donor-advised funds. Donor-advised funds currently invested in the Foundation include funds designed to contribute ongoing general support for our local Church, provide annual support for two programs of Catholic Social Services, and help individual spiritual direction more available.
The Foundation is an invaluable resource for sound, values-based asset and estate planning. Depending on how they choose to give, Foundation donors have the ability to preserve assets while alive, reduce estate taxes and capital gains, and may secure guaranteed fixed payments for life. Donors of all ages include the Foundation in their wills, memorializing a lifelong commitment to Christian stewardship and helping to make possible the continued health of the Catholic Church in Southcentral Alaska.
