Statement regarding allegations concerning Mr. David Haas

Mr. David Haas is a liturgical composer and musician from Minnesota.  Recently, multiple adult women made allegations of sexual misconduct against him.  According to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, many of these allegations were brought forward since May of 2020.

Mr. Haas participated in music events in the Diocese of Juneau and the Archdiocese of Anchorage approximately twenty years ago.  We encourage anyone who may have information about misconduct regarding Mr. Haas, or anyone else, to please report it to your local law enforcement agency.  You may also want to consider contacting the (Arch)diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator.

Out of respect for any possible victims, the use of music composed by Mr. Haas is suspended while the allegations against him outside of Alaska are investigated.

Both the Diocese of Juneau and the Archdiocese of Anchorage are committed to promoting and maintaining safe environments, free from sexual harassment and abuse.
