May is Mary’s Month!

This month, consider trying a new prayer honoring Our Blessed Mother, who leads us to Jesus.


5 Types of Marian Prayers


1. The Angelus.

This is a great, short Marian prayer that helps you pray throughout your day. The Angelus includes 3 Hail Mary’s and is traditionally prayed at noon and 6pm.


2. Wear a scapular or Miraculous Medal.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel gave the brown scapular to St. Simon Stock in 1251. Why wear a scapular? Read this article for a great explanation, or learn more about the history and prayers associated with this devotion.

3. Try a 9-day Marian Novena

The USCCB has a few great novenas here.

4. A Scriptural Rosary.

5. Consecration to Jesus through Mary.

There are many prayers to give yourself to Jesus by following Mary’s example. Here are a few of the most common versions:
