About Roy Petitfils, LPC
I am a lifelong native of Louisiana and currently live in Youngsville, LA with my wife Mindi and our two sons, Max and Ben.
I have a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from St. Joseph Seminary College in Louisiana and have a Master of Mental Health Counseling degree from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette in 2009. Additionally, I studied ministry and spirituality at the graduate level at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Italy. I received my license to practice psychotherapy in the state of Louisiana in 2012,
My ministry background spans over twenty years, including 11 in Catholic schools serving as a teacher, campus minister, administrator and school counselor. Since 2009, my counseling has been focused almost exclusively with adolescents and families.
Since 2002, I have been speaking in parishes, churches, dioceses, schools and at events for teens and adults. Most of my speaking in recent years has been closely aligned to the themes of my counseling practice; namely, helping adults understand, reach and influence teens, and helping teens to understand themselves. I also present parish missions and serve as an inspirational, motivational keynote speaker in both religious and corporate venues.
