Becoming a Catholic

first communion

Children under the age of 7, please contact your local parish for additional information.

Adults and children over the age of 7 are usually admitted to the Church through the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This process is carried out in the local parish at time and place set by the RCIA team.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an invitation to be freed from the power of darkness and jointed to Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. We become part of the entire people of God in the celebration of the memorial of the Lord’s death and resurrection. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, USCCB website)
