Throughout 2015 and 2016, the Archdiocese of Anchorage will have a lot to celebrate.
There are four significant anniversaries:
- 25th Episcopal Ordination of Archbishop Roger L. Schwietz, OMI
- 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Archdiocese of Anchorage
- 50th Anniversary of Catholic Social Services
- 100th Anniversary of Holy Family Cathedral, the first Catholic Church in Anchorage
All together, these three jubilees and one centennial make up A Season of Blessings, a time for Catholics and community members across Southcentral Alaska to celebrate faith and fellowship in the Last Frontier.
A Season of Blessings begins with Archbishop Schwietz’s Anniversary and Birthday Mass in July 2015 and concludes with the Archdiocesan Anniversary Mass in late 2016.
