Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is a ministry of Christian companionship. Through regular meetings, a person of faith is encouraged to engage in pastoral conversaton with a trained director, in order to share something of their ongoin relationship with GOd and more fully explore their prayer journey.

Spiritual direction, as it is offered by Holy Spirit Center, our Archdiocesan Spirituality and Retreat Center, is rooted in two basic convictions.  First is that our personal relationship with God is of primary importance.  Second is that this relationship with God is intimately connected with how we relate with one another as part of a community of faith.

Spiritual direction can help as person to more fully recognize God's indwelling Spirit in the realities of everyday experinece. It ideally provides a unifiying context in whcih to reflectively explore our response to God's initiatives in our life. Through spiritual direction, we are invited to take some time to better appreciate the presence of God in our family, friendships, communities, and workplace.
