Global Solidarity Partnership

On November 6, 2004, the Archdiocese of Anchorage and the Archdiocese of Cotabato, Philippines entered into a Partnership Agreement to build closer ties between their communities.
Archbishop Roger L. Schwietz, OMI and Archbishop Orlando B. Quevedo, OMI committed to the following vision:
“We, the Archdioceses of Cotabato and Anchorage, hereby establish a solidarity partnership in Jesus Christ to build closer ties between our communities. We seek a Spirit-filled relationship out of which will grow mutual understanding and support. This relationship will enrich the lives of our people through the sharing of who we are and what we have. We desire a partnership rooted in communion that is characterized by openness and solidarity.”
Filipino Archbishop Orlando Quevedo visited the Anchorage Archdiocese June 9-12, stopping off in Talkeetna, Kenai and Eagle River to further explore the partnership between his Cotabato Archdiocese on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao and the Anchorage Archdiocese. To read more . . .
Delegations from the Archdiocese of Anchorage have twice traveled to Cotabato to explore strategies to carry out this partnership. To read more about our visits and partnership check the Catholic Anchor links:
