Together Encountering Christ

Our Mission Statement:

Together Encountering Christ is a recognized movement of the Roman Catholic Church, offering the youth and young adults an experience of the Paschal Mystery of Jesus. Through evangelization and catechesis, this intergenerational movement facilitates spiritual growth of youth and young adults with a community of adult mentors. TEC calls forth one's goodness for service in the Church and world. It is committed to providing formation and education of adult leaders, quality resources and is an integral part of the vision of total youth ministry.

what is TEC?

The ministry of TEC recognizes the power of the intergenerational faith community in sharing faith with adolescents. Young people are supported by faith filled, caring adults who act as mentors and witnesses through TEC, youth and young adults experience a greater desire to belong to and participate in the Church.

We believe that TEC can assist in promoting growth in Catholic identity and Christian discipleship in the world. TEC Is:

A movement of spirituality
A specially designed weekend process of shared experiences with in a community of youth and young adults
Centered in the Paschal Mystery as it is lived out in the struggles, joys and triumphs of daily life.
Designed for those in a period of transition, sorting out life values, asking them to be open to the Gospel vision.
An opportunity for ongoing growth in faith and prayer and promotes involvement in the life and mission of the Church.
Where adults are called to serve as mentors and facilitate and sustain the spiritual growth of young people.
A movement of the Catholic Church, by the Church, and for the Church
Approved by Archbishop Schwietz as an official evangelizing agency within Archdiocese of Anchorage community.
