Religious Education:
LifeLong Faith Formation

The Office of Evangelization in cooperation with the Faith Formation Committee assists the Archbishop in establishing “an active and fruitful catechesis as an effective priority (GDC p. 210)” for all clergy, religious, and lay people throughout the Archdiocese, and so will:

  • Provide an authentic teaching of the faith;
  • Guarantee the quality of educational methods, texts, and tools;
  • Ensure effective well prepared catechists who through programs of certification will demonstrate both skill and passion for catechetics;
  • Address the need for catechetical resources for the many cultures in the Archdiocese; and
  • Oversee an organized, well articulated, comprehensive program of education and formation integrated in the Archdiocesan pastoral plan that responds to the true needs of the faithful and its leaders.

What we have heard and know, what our ancestors have told us
we shall not conceal from our descendants, but will tell a generation still to come.
—Psalm 78:3-4
