Prayers for an Evangelizing Church

Lord, open my eyes, that I might see the needs of others,
Open my ears, that I might hear your call of discipleship,
Open my heart, that I might love without prejudice,
Open my mouth, that I might share the Good News.
Guide the Church of Anchorage with your grace,
Enlighten us with your Word, and
Strengthen us to be Disciples in Mission. Amen.

O Mary, the Star of Evangelization,
intercede with your Son to bring about in each of us a renewed enthusiasm for our faith,
a greater zeal to deepen it, and the courage of commitment to discipleship.
Walk with us in faith, strengthen us in hope, and unite us in love
as we strive to become disciples in mission as the Church of Anchorage. Amen.

O God, fill our hearts with the fire of your love.
Renew the Church of Anchorage Lord Jesus,
so that as disciples our homes, parishes, neighborhoods, and world
are transformed by your Gospel so peace and justice prevail.
Awaken in us, Holy Spirit the willingness to witness to the presence of Jesus in our lives. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit!
Fill our Archbishop, clergy, religious, and lay ministers
with wisdom and courage to live and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Fill all parish and agency staff with your power
to evangelize those whom they serve through their hospitality and stewardship.
Fill all your people with the grace to become disciples and courage to make disciples. Amen.
