<p><strong>May 2 │ Many Images, One Heart - St. Anthony's Parish Hall,</strong> 6 to 11 pm.  The aim of this event is to bring our diverse cultures together for an evening of sharing food, talents, traditions, songs and stories.  Those who attend will buy a passport for $5 (or free will donation) and then visit 8 different ethnic booths to have their passports stamped, learn about their culture, sample their food, and dance to their music!  The booths will include Mexican/Hispanic displays, Samoan, Filippino, Alaskan Native, Nigerian, Polish, German and Korean displays.  The St. Anthony VMY/FIAT Youth Group will be presenting a "No Talent" show.  This event is brought to you by the Youth in Theology and Ministry students of St. Anthony and the St. Anthony Pastoral Council.</p>

<p><strong>May 3 │ Mass for Founder of Sisters of Perpetual Adoration</strong> - On May 3rd the Archdiocese will celebrate a Mass at Blessed Sacrament Monastery at 11:00am in honor of the beatification of Mother Mary Magdalene of the Incarnation, the foundress of the religious order from which the Sisters in Anchorage had their origin.  The celebration is on the same day as the beatification in Rome.  Adoration will begin at 9:00pm the evening prior and continue until the regular daily Mass at 8:00am.  The official celebration will begin with Mass at 11:00am, followed by a reception.  All are invited!</p>

<p><strong>New Medjugorje television program</strong>  Each Friday this year at 9:30 PM, a series of shows, “Medjugorje, Our Mother’s Last Call” are being broadcast on GCI Channel 18, CREDO. Akathist Saturday is the beautiful celebration by which the Byzantine Catholic Church celebrates the divine Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was solemnly proclaimed in 431 AD at the Council of Ephesus.  The Akathistos celebrates and explains the Virgins role in the mystery of the Incarnation.  However, as the Thanksgiving Hymn to the Blessed Mother, it was celebrated after the miraculous deliverance of Constantinople from a siege in 626 AD.  This service soon became the hymn of thanksgiving for Mary’s heavenly intercession and help and was assigned liturgically to the 5th Saturday of Lent called Akathistos Saturday.  This service is held only once a year and lasts approximately 1 hour.  A short history of the icons and icon screen of St. Nicholas will be provided for those who wish to remain for that after the service. </p>

<p><strong>March 1 | Outdoor Stations of the Cross for Lent </strong>- Bring a spirit of adventure and awe for a luminaria-lit walk of the Stations of the Cross through the woods at Holy Spirit Center.  After the Stations, the group will gather in Resurrection Chapel for Hot cocoa and Taize prayer by candle light.  Bring snowshoes if you have them.  Youth and RCIA groups are most welcome.
