May 5 │ Holy Rosary Academy Open House: On Wednesday, May 5th, Holy Rosary Academy (Pre-K thru 12) will host an Open House for families interested in considering sending their children to Holy Rosary Academy for the upcoming school year. The Open House will begin at 7:00pm with tours of the school provided. A brief presentation and question and answer session will follow the tours beginning at approximately 7:30pm.

YOUNG ADULTS

The Holy Family Cathedral young adults (men and women, single and married, aged 18-39) invite others throughoutthe diocese to join them for their weekly activities:

• On Wednesdays they meet at 7:00pm in the Holy Family Center (on 5th Avenue, west of the cathedral) for discussions about the Catholic Church's teachings regarding difficult moral issues. No preparation is necessary. Next week's topic = social justice. Other upcoming topics include: warfare, church membership, priest celibacy, ordination of women, authority in the church, and conscience.

• On Fridays, from 7 to 8pm, young adults are especially invited to deepen their relationship with Christ during "Christ in the City," an evening of Eucharistic adoration and benediction at Holy Family Cathedral. After Adoration, the group gathers to socialize. What better way to end the week than spending an hour with Jesus and socializing with other Catholic adults?

April 20 │ Meet Charles, an amazing young man with a compelling story to tell about being a former body guard to a rebel group leader of the Lords Resistance Army in Uganda, Africa. Charles will be in Anchorage to talk about his five years as a child solider living in the ‘bush’. Charles will be traveling with the founder of ChildVoice International, Conrad Mandsager. They will be speaking at the Catholic Social Services Center at 3710 East 20th Avenue, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 7:00pm concerning the issues of human trafficking, child-soldiers and the modern realities of war.

YOUNG ADULTS

The Holy Family Cathedral young adults (men and women, single and married, aged 18- 39) invite others throughoutthe diocese to join them for their weekly activities:

On Wednesdays they meet at 7:00pm in the Holy Family Center (on 5th Avenue, west of the cathedral) for discussions of Catholic moral teachings. No preparation is necessary. Next week's topic = homosexuality. Other upcoming topics include: social justice, warfare, church membership, priest celibacy, ordination of women, authority in the church, and conscience. This week we will not have a discussion so that we may attend the parish mission in the parish center.

On Fridays, from 7 to 8pm, young adults are especially invited to deepen their relationship with Christ during "Christ in the City," an evening of Eucharistic adoration and benediction at Holy Family Cathedral. After Adoration, the group gathers to socialize. What better way to end the week than spending an hour with Jesus and socializing with other Catholic adults?

Join them for brunch and a trip to the Rasmuson Star Wars exhibit on April 24. Meet at the cathedral after 9:00am Mass.

April 20 │ Meet Charles, an amazing young man with a compelling story to tell about being a former body guard to a rebel group leader of the Lords Resistance Army in Uganda, Africa.
