Archbishop Schwietz and the Adrian Dominican Sisters are hosting a dinner and information meeting for women who would like to learn about religious life as a sister. April 21 │ Jerene Mortenson, mother of best-selling author Greg Mortenson (“Three Cups of Tea”), will speak Wednesday, April 21, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Jerene has been in demand at schools and churches all over town as she speaks about her son’s work building nearly 200 schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. April 23 │Koinonia, the Greek word meaning community, is a weekend renewal experience centering on the basic beliefs and practices of the Catholic Christian faith. The Holy Family Cathedral young adults (men and women, single and married, aged 18- 39) invite others throughoutthe diocese to join them for their weekly activities:

On Wednesdays they meet at 7:00pm in the Holy Family Center (on 5th Avenue, west of the cathedral) for discussions of Catholic moral teachings. No preparation is necessary.This week's topic = divorce and remarriage. Other upcoming topics include: contraception, homosexuality, social justice, warfare, church membership, priest celibacy, ordination of women, authority in the church, and conscience.

On Fridays, from 7 to 8pm, young adults are especially invited to deepen their relationship with Christ during "Christ in the City," an evening of Eucharistic adoration and benediction at Holy Family Cathedral. After Adoration, the group gathers to socialize. What better way to end the week than spending an hour with Jesus and socializing with other Catholic adults?

Join them for brunch and a trip to the Rasmuson Star Wars exhibit on April 24. Meet at the cathedral after 9:00am. Mass.

Fifth Sunday of Lent [March 21, 2009]

Fourth Sunday of Lent [March 14, 2010]

March 14 │Death Penalty Presentation - St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host a presentation on the Death Penalty by a man held on death row for 19 years for a murder he did not commit. Sunday, March 14 at 1:00 p.m, join Curtis E. McCary, a guest of Alaskans Against the Death Penalty, as he speaks at St. Elizabeth’s. This event is free and open to the community. Refreshments will follow.

- Fridays, from 7 to 8pm, young adults are especially invited to deepen their relationship with Christ during "Christ in the City," an evening of Eucharistic adoration and benediction at Holy Family Cathedral. Twice per month, they gather to socialize afterward. The next social activity at 8:00pm will be on March 12. What better way to end the week than spending an hour with Jesus and socializing with other Catholic adults?

March 27-28 │ Camping, skiing, and hiking at the Mat-Su Glacier cabin near Sheep Mountain! Meet at the cathedral after 9:00am Mass.

April 24 │ Rasmuson Star Wars exhibit on Saturday, April 24. Meet at the cathedral after 9:00am Mass.
