The public hearing period on the Municipality's budget has been reopened. A special Anchorage Assembly meeting will be held on Monday, November 30 at Loussac Library at 5:00pm. Jewish-Catholic-Muslim Dialoguer │ The Cardinal Newman Chair of Catholic Theology seeks a partner interested in sharing Catholic/Christian understandings with Muslims and Jews. The first meetings will concern the foundational prayers (Shema (Jewish), Lord’s Prayer (Christian), Al-Fatiha (Muslim). There will be two presenters for each, one will be scholarly, the other personal/spiritual. We hope to hold the first meeting in the afternoon of December 6, 2009 followed by a public presentation in January. Inter-faith Dialogue is a time of sharing one’s understandings; it is not a time for disputes and apologetics. One goes to learn from the other in hopes of being then able to accurately articulate the others understandings so that the other recognizes their belief in what the dialogue partner states. See“Dialogue Decalogue” are the guidelines that will be used. http://astro.temple.edu/~dialogue/Antho/decalog.htm During this round Dr. Boisclair will offer an analysis of the prayer as found in Matthew, Luke and the Didache. Anyone interested should contact Dr. Boisclair at boisc@alaskapacific.edu or 564-8274
