July 7, 14, and 21 │The young adults of Holy Family Cathedral invite you to ... GIFTS OF SACRIFICE AND PRAISE: The Priesthood of Jesus Christ and the Christian Vocation. As Christians, each of us shares in a "royal priesthood." But what does that mean to our daily lives? Priesthood is deeply connected to sacrifice and consecration. But how is the Mass a sacrifice? What sacrifice does the priesthood of the laity offer? What do we consecrate? And if we are all part of this "royal priesthood", why doesn't the Church ordain women to the ministerial priesthood? Join us for a three-part presentation and discussion series by Rev. Bro. Isaiah Mary Molano, O.P. on the priesthood of Jesus Christ and the Christian vocation. We'll take a look at Scripture, the Church Fathers, and St. Thomas Aquinas on:
- how the Mass is a sacrificial act, deeply connected to the sacrifice of the Cross, the various elements of the Mass that point to that reality, and why it matters;
- how we, as laity, are called to offer sacrifice to God in our daily lives; and
- what the Catholic Church really teaches about women and the ministerial priesthood. WHERE: Holy Family Cathedral WHEN: July 7, 14, and 21 at 7:00pm.
