October 18│Saturday Sacrament Series: Eucharist - Course 2 of this four course series will take place Saturday, October 18th 9:00am to 1:00pm at Holy Spirit Center. Each month through December we will focus on a specific Sacrament (or two) reflecting on the history, validity, preparation and spirituality of the Sacraments. With the newly released Sacramental & Catechetical Guidelines for the Archdiocese of Anchorage this is a fantastic opportunity for all of us to review these wonderful gifts that bring God present in our lives. Brother Francis Shelter is hosting this event to celebrate Alaska Native culture through music, dancing and food, Friday, October 24, 2008 from 10am — 3:00pm and we need desserts. Catholic Social Services is promoting a program by the Spiritual Directors of Alaska called The Listening Post – A Place to Meditate & Pray – A Place to Tell Your Story. This is a program for people who desire an opportunity to share their concerns with a trained volunteer who offers respect and confidentiality. Open 11:00am – 4:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday and 5:30pm – 8:00pm Thursday on the 2nd floor of the Downtown Transit Center at 6th & G Street. All are welcome. There is no fee or expectation.
