August 26-September 18 │The Gospel of Mark (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 - 9:30 PM) Regina Boisclair.Ph.D., Professor. This course will engage in a critical analysis and peculiar features of Mark’s good news of Jesus, Son of God. Special concern will be given to differences between Mark’s social location and that of his 21st century readers.

August 25-September 22 │Foundations of Hinduism (Mondays and Thursdays at 7:00 - 9:20 PM) Alfred Collins, Ph.D., Professor. Hinduism might be described as a quest to attain the real self and overcome attachment to a false or unreal sense of self. This course will explore the pathways this search has taken over the past 3500 years.

August 15 - 19│Centering Prayer Retreat led by Kess Frey and Fran Victor. During this retreat, participants will have the opportunity to experience centering prayer sessions, group prayer services, view videos from Contemplative Outreach, and take walks in an atmosphere of silence and beauty. Retreat begins Friday, August 15 at 6:30 for check-in and ends Tuesday, August 19 1pm. Fee for full retreat is $325; attending Friday through Sunday is $195. October 3-5│ Koinonia weekend will be offered at Holy Spirit Center Oct. 3-5th. This weekend, which is offered for all adults, concentrates on the Paschal mystery: the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Koinonia (a Greek term meaning community) emphasizes that the Church is a community of baptized believers who know they are set apart to proclaim the Gospel and to serve all people in a healing way. This concept of Church is communicated to the group not only through talks, discussions and activities, but also through the team and participants being Church.
