July 7-11 │"Catechesis of the Good Shepherd" Training Available This form of faith formation utilizes Montessori method for 3-6 year olds. Please join us for a week of training. July 19 │ World Youth Day “Alaska Style” Saturday, July 19 – 1 to 10pm at the Holy Spirit Center for young adults between the ages of 18 to 40. Join Archbishop Roger Schwietz and young adults from all over Alaska to participate together locally in World Youth Day events being held in Sydney, Australia. There will be joyful music, dance, prayer, reflection and BBQ! WYD “Alaska Style” will culminate with the celebration of the World Youth Day Mass with the Pope Benedict via live feed from the official location in Sydney! August 15 - 19 │Centering Prayer Retreat led by Kess Frey and Fran Victor. During this retreat, participants will have the opportunity to experience centering prayer sessions, group prayer services, view videos from Contemplative Outreach, and take walks in an atmosphere of silence and beauty. Retreat begins Friday, August 15 at 6:30 for check-in and ends Tuesday, August 19 1pm. Fee for full retreat is $325; attending Friday through Sunday is $195. October 3-5│ Koinonia weekend will be offered at Holy Spirit Center Oct. 3-5th. This weekend, which is offered for all adults, concentrates on the Paschal mystery: the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Koinonia (a Greek term meaning community) emphasizes that the Church is a community of baptized believers who know they are set apart to proclaim the Gospel and to serve all people in a healing way. This concept of Church is communicated to the group not only through talks, discussions and activities, but also through the team and participants being Church.
