August 26|Free Public Lecture: Dr. John Borelli, of Georgetown University will offer a presentation titled “Christian, Muslims and Jews in Dialogue” on Sunday August 26, 2007, Grant Hall Theater on the campus of Alaska Pacific University, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Dr. Borelli has been a long-time participant in these dialogues representing the United States Catholic Conference. This is the opening event in a year long program of public education on Islam offered under the direction of the Cardinal Newman Chair at APU. Two Up-Coming Opportunities for Nurses to Become Involved in Parish Ministry Parish Nurses of Alaska and Northwest Parish Nurse Ministries in collaboration with Providence Health System Alaska are sponsoring two up-coming training courses for nurses interested in parish ministry. Parish Nursing focuses on “whole-person” care “including the patient’s spiritual, physical and emotional needs”, according to Sr. Jackie Stoll,op, ANP, Archdiocesan coordinator for Parish Nursing and Parish Ministries of Health. The first course will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Soldotna and will be held October 11, 12, 13 and November 1, 2, 3 2007.
