FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP | ELECTION 2006 - Now that the results from the primary elections are tabulated, it is time to prayerfully reflect on the candidates for the mid-term November elections. September 24 | "Finding the Elusive God" - Fr. Paul Scanlon, O.P., Parochial Vicar at Holy Family Cathedral and Hispanic Minister has been invited by the Anchorage Museum of History and Art to make a presentation and signing of his recently published book, Finding the Elusive God, published by Our Sunday Visitor Press. The presentation at the Museum on Sunday, September 24th from 3:30-4:30pm.

Attention Class!
The nun you remember from grade school and high school is coming to help you remember the joys of parochial school. This uproarious, laugh-out-loud funny, interactive theater, complete with a leading "Sister" from the Lower 48, will be presented on Saturday, October 28, at 8 pm in the Lunney Center at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Tickets are $30 per person and Sister says, "Order your tickets by calling 248-2000. Do it NOW!"

Offerings for Fall 2006: Interested persons are welcome to some classes as “observers” for a fee of $100. Although no college credit is given, observers may participate in class at whatever level they feel comfortable. Courses offered by Dr. Regina A. Boisclair are: Epistles of Paul (Thursdays 9-11:30am, Grant Hall 312 Sept 28-Dec 14, 2006); Luke/Acts (Tuesdays 7-9:30pm, Grant Hall 228 Oct 3-Dec 12, 2006). Come early, register and bring a Bible. CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES

Clare House, serving homeless women and women with children, would like to thank the following parishes that have provided meals throughout the summer: Our Lady of Fatima (Elmendorf AFB), St. Andrew, St. Anthony, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Cross, St. Benedict, St. Patrick and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Your coordinating and cooking efforts in providing the evening meal (for up to 45 people once a month) are deeply appreciated by the staff and clients at Clare House.

McAuley Manor, a program for homeless and troubled teenage girls, is recruiting volunteers to teach knitting and/or crocheting (yarn & needles supplied, flexible schedule, contact Melissa 297-7706 or melissa.bartley@cssalaska.org

The Blues for My Brother event will be held November 11, 2006, benefitting Brother Francis Shelter, Anchorage, a program of Catholic Social Services that serves homeless adults.
