Thank you for supporting the HUGSS (Helping Us Give School Supplies) & Coats for Kids project. With your support Catholic Social Services and its community partners were able to serve 5,322 kids from low-income households. The goal of this project was not only to provide basic supplies and a warm coat but to foster an excitement for learning that will be life-long.

The two-day event will be held August 18 & 19, 2006 at Camp Carroll on Ft. Richardson. CSS is currently recruiting volunteers to help staff our information booth. St. Francis House (SFH) collaborates with Anchorage’s Bishop’s Attic. SFH clients have access to a greater selection of clothing and furniture through a new partnership between SFH and Bishop’s Attic. Effective immediately, clothing and furniture will be distributed at Bishop’s Attic through a voucher system. This allows SFH to expand its food pantry and fight hunger more aggressively. Please take all non-food donations directly to Bishop’s Attic at 1100 Gambell Street between the hours of 9am–5:30pm Monday thru Saturday. SFH can no longer accept non-food donations.

Her ministry has taken her across North America and her native Japan, to Europe and to Mother Teresa’s community in Calcutta, India. SFH clients will soon have access to a greater selection of clothing and furniture through a new partnership between SFH and Bishop’s Attic. Effective immediately, clothing and furniture will be distributed at Bishop’s Attic through a voucher system. In addition to providing a better selection, this will allow SFH to expand its food pantry and fight hunger more aggressively. Please take all non-food donations directly to Bishop’s Attic at 1100 Gambell Street between the hours of 9am–5:30pm Monday thru Saturday. SFH can no longer accept non-food donations at their location.
