Parishes of the Archdiocese
Liturgy in Your Language & Culture
Throughout the Archdiocese of Anchorage, liturgy and other services are offered in many different languages, cultural and ethnic traditions representing the diversity of this Great Land. Truly, the Lord's command to "Go and make disciples of all peoples" is made real in the Archdiocese each Sunday of the year.

Eastern (Byzantine) Catholic Churches
The Eastern Byzantine Catholic Churches are Churches in communion with the Church of Rome and with one another. They are of apostolic origin and manifest the same oneness characteristic of the Apostolic Church by virtue of their common bond with the Successor of Peter. In light of Pope John Paul II's Apostolic Letter Orientale Lumen, Roman Catholics are encouraged to visit and pray with their Eastern Catholic brothers and sisters.

Beyond the family, the most common Church experience for Catholics is the parish.
"The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Parishes are the home of the Christian community; they are the heart of our Church. Parishes are the place where God's people meet Jesus in word and sacrament and come in touch with the source of the Church's life." — U.S. Catholic Bishops
