MISSION

The Catholic Archdiocese of Anchorage is a people of many cultures,
called by the love of Christ to proclaim the Gospel,
celebrate the sacraments and give witness through joyful lives
of prayer and service.

VALUES

The Archdiocese of Anchorage values:

  • Celebrating Eucharist and the other sacraments
  • Living our Baptismal call to ministry centered in Jesus Christ
  • Being a community of hospitality and welcome
  • Sharing a commitment to peace and justice
  • Practicing stewardship as a way of life
  • Respecting life and the diversity of people from many cultures
  • Supporting ordained and lay leaders from all ethnic and language groups
  • Embracing our salvation history through study of our biblical tradition

VISION

We are People of God becoming united as the Body of Christ in the Archdiocese of Anchorage.

We are a Eucharistic people dedicated to building welcoming communities of collaboration, stewardship, peace, justice and respect.

We are richly diverse: Native, Hispanic, Latin, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, European, military and civilian.

We are a healing presence guided by the Holy Spirit to go forth united as disciples of Jesus Christ, proclaiming his life, death, and resurrection.

We live our Catholic faith in vibrant parishes, schools and other institutions, where our gifts are called forth and shared in service to all, especially to those in need.

Thus we are forming one family of faith making present the risen Christ and building the reign of God.
