Strengthen Life-Long Faith Formation

A. Develop and implement a lifelong faith formation plan
B. Strengthen Catholic Schools in an Archdiocesan School System
C. Support adult and senior adult faith formation
D. Support and enrich all catechetical leaders
E. Encourage family-centered catechesis
F. Expand educational opportunities through the use of technology
G. Support and network with home school youth

(John 17:20-22)
I pray for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one.


Deepen Catholic Spiritual Life

A. Promote principles and practices that support individual and communal prayer life
B. Convene regional and archdiocesan celebrations of faith
C. Support the creation and development of small faith sharing groups
D. Provide resources that support spiritual growth
E. Share the good news of our deepening faith and spirituality through evangelization

(1 Corinthians 2:9-10,12)
Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it so much as dawned on people what God has prepared for those who love. Yet God has revealed this wisdom to us through the Spirit.
The Spirit we have received is not the world’s spirit but God’s spirit,
helping us to recognize the gifts God has given us.


Celebrate Our Catholic Faith as Eucharistic People

A. Explore the meaning of the Paschal Mystery through liturgy, word & deed
B. Celebrate life-giving and faith-filled liturgies
C. Provide opportunities for ongoing liturgical catechesis
D. Sponsor liturgical ministry formation
E. Provide for prayerful celebrations in the absence of a priest

(Luke 22:19-20)
Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.”


Engage Youth and Young Adults in Church Life

A. Invite youth & young adults to participate in the daily life of the Church
B. Foster youth and young adult faith formation
C. Create and implement educational opportunities for youth and young adults who are poor and marginalized
D. Outreach to young adults both on campus and off

(1 Timothy 4:11-16)
Command and teach these things.
Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word with the imposition of hands. Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone.


Promote Action for the Common Good

A. Serve the diverse ethnic and cultural populations within the Archdiocese
B. Provide pastoral outreach out to the poor, marginalized and vulnerable
C. Recognize and care for those in prison or in other difficulty with the judicial system
D. Advocate and work for justice, a consistent ethic of life and peace
E. Strengthen the mission & vision of Catholic Social Services into parish life

(Matthew 25:34-36, 40-41)
Come, O blessed of my Creator, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly, I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.


Live as Good Stewards of All God’s Creation

A. Promote awareness that all is gift from God
B. Develop and implement a comprehensive approach to stewardship
C. Encourage the sharing of gifts of time, talent and treasure
D. Ensure stewardship of all Archdiocesan human, financial & facility resources
E. Respond to the unique needs of our urban and rural faith communities as well as the wider community

(1Corinthians 12:4-7)
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service but the same Lord;

there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.

To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.


Form and Support Collaborative Leaders

A. Recognize and affirm the baptismal call to ministry of each person
B. Call forth men and women for lay and ordained ministry
C. Provide ongoing support for leaders in ministry
D. Offer opportunities for ministry certification, continuing education and degree training and formation
E. Implement a vision for collaborative ministry throughout the Archdiocese

(2 Corinthians 4:7,11,15)
But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.


Grow in Unity and Welcome through Diversity

A. Proclaim, witness and share that we are one church, one people
B. Be respectful, welcoming and hospitable to all peoples and cultures
C. Respond to the needs of people and families with special needs
D. Encourage reconciliation and healing wherever needed

(Matthew 28:18-20)
All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.


Engage in Ecumenical and Interfaith Witness

A. Recognize and promote working together on mutual concerns
B. Create structures that facilitate theological and ethical dialogue
C. Increase prayer and action on behalf of unity at Archdiocesan & parish levels
D. Foster relationships with other religious leaders and their communities
E. Participate in interfaith forums and worship

(1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
The body is one and has many members,
but all the members, many though they are, are one body; and so it is with Christ.
It was in one Spirit that all of us, whether Jew or Greek, slave or free,
were baptized into one body.
All of us have been given to drink of the one Spirit.
